I am a fanatical sports lover that occasionally peppers in movies, food, and travel. Thanks for visiting my blog! Check out my daily sports blog "Women Like Sports" at: http://apryldelancey.blogspot.com/
It isn't so hard to be green, at least in some small way. I notice that the local news is highlighting the need to stop using plastic bags nearly every day. For some reason, cashiers and baggers still look at me like I'm an alien when I try to bring my own reusable bags. This happens everywhere - even at Whole Foods! I would think that there would at least be more eco-friendly shoppers there! I thought there would be more consumers that were interested in recycling in Los Angeles! But alas, I still look like an outcast more times than not. It's even more amusing at department stores and other clothing retailers. When you explain to these people that you have your own bag, they almost look down on you! I don't get it - why is it so unbelievable to have your own stash of re-usable shopping bags in the car? Nevertheless, I will continue to bring my bags. Someday everyone else will catch up and claim they have been doing it all along. Not so - I see you now, looking at me like I am crazy! Take a chance and join me sooner rather than later!
P.S. Of course there is much more involved in being a green consumer than simple bags - but this is an excellent start!
